We’re Hiring: Director of Collections

Location: Albany, Georgia or Phenix City, Alabama 

 Salary: $50,000 – $55,000 annually + Incentive Opportunities

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, inspire, and motivate a high-performing collections team.
  • Oversee the credit union’s entire loan portfolio collections with strategic precision.
  • Develop and implement innovative collection strategies to maximize revenue and minimize risk.
  • Build and maintain policies and procedures covering collections, charge-offs, repossessions, and bankruptcies.
  • Serve as a trusted liaison between the credit union and our members, delivering exceptional service every step of the way.
  • Negotiate settlement agreements and establish payment plans that support member success.
  • Analyze reports, identify trends, and recommend solutions to improve performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, and credit reporting standards.
  • Skip trace, recover charged-off loans, and manage accounts with confidence.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support the credit union’s mission, vision, and core values.

What You Bring

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and empower others.
  • Solid understanding of legislative and regulatory processes related to collections.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Knowledge of banking operations, compliance regulations, and credit union products and services.
  • A knack for problem-solving, analytical thinking, and balancing multiple priorities.
  • Experience leading collections or financial operations teams preferred.
